Course Overview
This Specialization focuses on data architecture abilities, becoming increasingly important in
various technology sectors. You'll master the fundamentals of structured data modeling,
receive hands-on SQL coding experience, and understand data warehouse design and
manipulation. You'll have the chance to construct dashboards and Visual Analytics with
massive data sets in a data warehouse environment. To construct dashboards and Visual
Analytics, you'll utilize MicroStrategy, a prominent BI solution with OLAP (online analytical
processing) and Visual Insights features. You'll utilize your abilities to build a small, basic
data warehouse, load it with data, and create dashboards and other visualizations to
evaluate and present the data to a wide audience.
MicroStrategy Desktop & Architect ( Project Design)
- Project design process from designing the logical data model and physical schema for the
data warehouse to creating a project in MicroStrategy Architect.
- Project creation process, including how to work with tables, facts, attributes, and user
hierarchies to create a fully functioning MicroStrategy project.
- Hands-on practice in designing and creating MicroStrategy projects through a series of
exercises.
- Extend the architecture of a MicroStrategy project by creating aggregate fact tables,
using multiple data sources, and defining advanced schema objects.
Microstrategy Desktop ( Reporting and Advanced Reporting )
- Learn the foundations of the MicroStrategy analytical architecture.
- Develop reports, filters, metrics, and prompts using MicroStrategy Developer interface
for core reporting needs.
- Drill, sort, subtotal, and modify in-memory data for optimized report views and
analytical comprehension.
- Build complex reports by creating advanced metrics and filters, defining Intelligent
Cubes, and modifying report data options.
- Understand how the MicroStrategy Engine develops Structured Query Language (SQL) to
gather data in a variety of reporting scenarios.
- Learn methods for tuning and optimizing report performance using Very Large Database
(VLDB) properties
- Learn how to create a dashboard in Visual Insight to explore your data and discover
trends or anomalies.
- Create reports in MicroStrategy Developer by composing your own queries using Free-Form
SQL
MicroStrategy Report Services: Documents and Dashboards
- Features and functionality of MicroStrategy Web™, focusing using MicroStrategy Report
Services™ to create dashboards and documents.
- Learn how to create documents, add datasets, various objects such as grids, graphs, text
boxes, images, as well as implementation of OLAP services features within your document
Students will also design and use dashboard features, such as panel stacks, selectors,
and dashboard templates.
- Flash-specific features, such as widgets, and Flash-specific formatting options.
Finally, the course illustrates useful document designing techniques.
MicroStrategy Web (Reporting )
- Understand MicroStrategy Web features and determine how to interact with reports, dashboards, and mobile apps at a high level.
- Develop reports, filters, prompts, and metrics in MicroStrategy Web to analyze data and publish reports to other users.
- Determine how to manipulate existing reports, define custom formatting, and linking between multiple reports using MicroStrategy Web.
MicroStrategy Features (new in Version 10) and Other Tools
- Enhanced reporting and visualizations capabilities in Web, Desktop, Mobile, and Transaction Services.
- Administrators will discover expanded feature sets to help tackle big data, improve performance, and have comprehensive monitoring through the new Operations Manager.
- MicroStrategy Integrity Manager, MicroStrategy Command Manager and Object Migration
